19/11 - OVERSEAS PROMOTIONS IN NEW DEALS

Tokyo, Japan : At a press conference today, WWA-NJPW Executive Tatsumi Fujinami announced that WWA-NJPW had struck deals with two further overseas promotions for talent exchange purposes.  He announced that deals had been done with NWA Florida and with fellow WWA affiliate, WWA Singapore/Far East Wrestling.  The deal with WWA Singapore will be immediately evident by Keiji Muto defending his WWA Asian Heavyweight Title against Greg "The Lion" Lewis at WWA-Singapore's upcoming SuperShow 2001 IV in Singapore on November 25. The show will also feature Rob Van Dam defending the WWA World Heavyweight Title against Cactus Jack Future deals between the two promotions may involve resurrecting the WWA World Shoot Fight Title possibly under Inoki's UFO banner.

With regard to NWA Florida, the deal will initially involve Fujinami temporarily emerging from retirement for a few appearances in NWA Florida and possibly getting a title shot of some sort.  In return, New Japan has confirmed it will be using up and coming Florida tag team, 'The M.O.B' consisting of Zack Steele & Mike Flynn as gaijin talent for the G1 Tag League for the IWGP Tag Team Titles.

Fujinami also said that WWA-NJPW CEO Antonio Inoki would be giving a press conference during the week to announce details of NEW Japan's new television deal with TV-Asahi.


 

12/11 - LIGER 2 WRESTLE IN THE PWA

Tokyo, Japan: At last night's house show at the Budokan Hall, Tokyo, WWA-NJPW President  Antonio Inoki confirmed that NJPW wrestler and WWA Cruiserweight Champion Jushin Liger would be defending his title at the PWA's 'Freedom Fest' event on November 22 at the TWA Dome in St Louis, MO in the USA.  Liger will be defending his title against PWA Lightweight Champion Spike Dudley and Joey Matthews in a 3-way dance.


 

08/11 - OVERSEAS TALENT CONFIRMED 4 TOUR

Tokyo, Japan: WWA-NJPW CEO Antonio Inoki today confirmed the first overseas talent exchange deal of NJPW's return.  In an agreement with WWA-CMLL, WWA Middleweight Champion, Juventud Guerrera, El Samurai, Dr Wagner Jr. will join the New Japan roster for the "Strong Style Spirit Return ' Tour, with a view to their New Japan counterparts working with CMLL in the future.  Also,  Inoki announced plans for cooperation with WWA-Mid-American Pro Wrestling, with a view to sending some of NJPW's shoot style wrestlers over to MAPW for some of its supercards in the future, possibly as soon as December.
